The Isle of Man Treasury has named Gregory Petts as Chairman of the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC).
Petts, who has served as a Commission member for five years, will now oversee the commission’s efforts to uphold regulatory standards within the Island’s gambling industry. His focus will include ensuring sector accountability, supporting industry growth, and protecting the Isle of Man’s reputation as a gaming jurisdiction.
“It is essential to strike a balance, maintaining responsible growth of the sector and continuing to uphold a strong regulatory framework,” Petts said. “Maintaining the Isle of Man’s international reputation as a trusted and respected jurisdiction is of the utmost importance.”
Petts, a chartered accountant and seasoned auditor, brings a wealth of experience from the gambling, finance, and life assurance sectors. He also possesses a strong background in internal audit, governance, risk management, and compliance—skills deemed vital as the GSC expands its regulatory mandate.
The appointment follows recent regulatory changes, including the introduction of the Permitted Disclosures Order 2025, which expands the GSC’s authority to share information with public authorities to combat financial crime.
The move seeks to strengthen collaboration across the Isle of Man to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing (ML/TF/PF).
