Esportes Gaming Brasil, the group formed by Esportes da Sorte and Onabet, has announced the appointment of Hugo Baungartner as its new executive director of Institutional Relations and Strategic Partnerships, also serving as chief business officer (CBO).
Baumgartner will lead relations with key regulators and public bodies, including the Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA/MF), Federal Revenue Service, Central Bank, and COAF.
He will also prepare the company for regulatory changes and drive partnerships, mergers, and new projects.
"Hugo's arrival strengthens our ability to act strategically in a constantly evolving sector,” said Darwin Filho, CEO of Esportes Gaming Brasil. “He brings an experienced, technical perspective aligned with the principles of governance and innovation that guide our group's companies.”
Baumgartner noted that Brazil is currently experiencing a pivotal phase in regulating the gaming sector. Motivated by the challenge of leading this movement with a prominent group, his objective is to ensure the company's operations comply with legal requirements while setting a standard for best practices, innovation, and sustainable growth.
With over 28 years in technology and gaming, Baumgartner previously held leadership roles at Grupo Aposta Ganha, RCT Gaming, and Prohards.
