Latin America, beyond the traction generated by Brazil and its regulation process, has become a tempting destination for the gaming industry. Many companies have set their eyes on the region, planning investments and expansions.

Before its attendance at G2E summit in Las Vegas, Yogonet was able to talk to Dimitri Palexas, Business Development Director of Games Media Works (GMW), about the company's current situation and its plans for the Latin American market, among other topics.

What are your expectations for the upcoming G2E Las Vegas?

We are excited about the upcoming edition of the G2E Summit, where we will present three new cabinets and nine innovative titles. We are confident that our customers will be pleasantly surprised with what we have prepared. The new games incorporate unique and exciting mathematics, plus we will feature progressive jackpots that will take the player's experience to the next level.

What are GMW's plans for the event, and will there be any special activities or presentations?

At the event, we will be exhibiting 16 state-of-the-art machines, along with our new LED Sign and a selection of our online games. You can find us at Booth #1850, where we will be happy to showcase our innovations and discuss how they can benefit our partners and customers.

How do you analyze the land-based gaming market today, with the advancement of new technologies? What do you think will be the future of the sector?

The industry has undergone an impressive evolution; never before has so much high-quality content been generated in such a short period. Modern game collections and new technologies have accelerated development, intensifying competition. I feel the industry is more competitive than ever. New games are creative, fast-paced, and exciting. The competition is intense.

What is GMW's vision for the Latin American region and do you have specific plans for the region?

Our vision for Latin America is ambitious. GMW is the engine that drives our games. Through Intervision Gaming, backed by GMW, we are introducing exclusive games throughout South America. While our current core markets are Peru and Mexico, we are planning a strategic expansion into Chile, Uruguay, and Argentina by 2025. We strongly believe in the growth potential in this region.

The company reached its 20th anniversary in October last year, can you give us a brief overview of GMW's history? How have you grown over the years and what challenges do you see ahead?

Our story begins in South Africa, where we grew up accompanying our father on his arcade machine route. This environment imbued us with a deep passion for games and machines. In 1996, we decided to explore the regulated market in Peru and, in 2000, we settled there to operate small slot machine properties. In 2003, we took the next step by starting to develop our slot machines.

The journey has been long and challenging, but we have managed to expand to more than 7 countries. Today, we are well-positioned to offer high-quality products at competitive prices. Although we have grown, we still consider ourselves a boutique company, with a lean structure and no foreign capital or outside interference.

Our essence and personalized approach are key to us. Currently, we develop a new game every week for online platforms, and we plan to keep the same pace for our slots in 2025. We are excited about what the future holds and about continuing to innovate in this dynamic sector.
