The Little River Band of Ottawa Indians of Little River Casino Resort has named Michael Schrader General Manager of the property, ahead of its 25th anniversary in July

I am happy to announce Michael as the new General Manager for the resort,” said Larry Romanelli, Ogema of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. “He has a strong background in the casino resort industry [and] was at one time, a team member of the resort.”

Schrader has widespread experience serving in leadership positions throughout the country, including more than 20 years of Native American casino and resort experience, the casino said. His background also includes business management, security and surveillance, compliance, and eight years in the US Navy.

I am excited to be back at Little River Casino Resort,” said Schrader. “I feel I have come full circle with my return and am quite grateful the Ogema has entrusted me with this crucial endeavor.

"I am lucky to have walked into an organization with a solid and knowledgeable executive team and the friendliest team members in the world. I have great expectations we will continue to uphold a high commitment to excellence, growth, and success.”

The Little River Casino Resort is set to celebrate its 25th anniversary in July. Located just north of Manistee, a community on the shores of Lake Michigan, Little River Casino Resort is situated at the corner of US31 and M22.

The casino was opened by the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians on July 21, 1999, as an interim facility with just 600 slot machines. It has since grown to deliver over 1,100 slot and video poker machines, as well as dozens of table games.

In 2002 the tribe moved its casino from the interim building into its current facility. The resort features a hotel with 292 rooms inspired by the area’s natural surroundings. Additionally, a 95-space RV Park is available for visitors traveling on the open road.

The resort's amenities include indoor and outdoor pools, restaurants, and a luxurious Nectar Spa & Salon. The casino also hosts musical and comedy acts in a 1,600-seat event venue.
