Caesars Entertainment released its 2023 Corporate Social Responsibility report on Thursday, highlighting the company’s progress in the areas of environmental impact, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, team member development, and community investment.

"At Caesars Entertainment, we’re committed to continuing to develop, diversify and achieve our CSR goals," said Heather Rapp, SVP of Corporate Social Responsibility for Caesars Entertainment. "We’ve been in a period of progress as we met and exceeded our interim emission reduction goals three years ahead of schedule, and because of that work, we were able to implement new, more ambitious goals this year."

In environmental impact, after achieving emission reduction goals three years ahead of schedule in 2022, the company is implementing a new greenhouse gas reduction goal of 46.2% by 2030 from a 2019 baseline.

Additionally, Caesars finalized several initiatives in 2023 to improve the carbon profile and overall environmental impact of CAESARS FORUM, the company’s 600,000-square-foot convention center in Las Vegas. The initiatives enabled CAESARS FORUM to achieve a Gold-level certification against the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standard.

In diversity, equity and inclusion, Caesars held its first enterprise-wide Business Impact Group (BIG) summit, inviting leaders from across the country to attend a two-day workshop in Las Vegas. The summit was an opportunity to evaluate each BIG’s role within the company, share learnings and best practices and develop strategies for each group moving forward. It also served as a professional development opportunity for the leaders.

In community investment, the Caesars Makes Change program, initially piloted in 2021, has expanded to nearly 40 Caesars Entertainment locations nationwide. This program allows guests to donate a portion of their slot cash-out tickets to charitable organizations. In 2023, the program contributed over $1.25 million to Meals on Wheels America and Boys and Girls Clubs of America.

In team member support, Caesars introduced Leading the Empire, a quarterly publication aimed at salaried team members to encourage self-development and professional growth. This leadership development tool covers the five pillars of the company’s leadership framework and provides links to additional learning resources. By the end of 2023, company leaders had completed over 3,100 learning programs through Leading the Empire, totaling over 2,300 hours of self-development.
