Las Vegas resort Mirage is undergoing a temporary transformation as Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS, gears up for a Super Bowl fan experience. The Mirage Volcano, a staple of the Las Vegas Strip, is making way for a project named "Paramount Mountain," part of Paramount's promotional campaign "Expedition Vegas: Journey to the Peak."

Crews have commenced the initial steps to create an Alpine-themed attraction that will provide fan experiences in the days leading up to the Super Bowl on February 11. The Mirage's famous volcano show will be temporarily replaced by Paramount Mountain, accessible to the public from February 8 until the big game on Sunday.

The elaborate structure, spanning a block on the Strip, invites tourists to interact with fan experiences inspired by popular Paramount content, including Transformers, Yellowstone, Dora the Explorer, and more. At the top of the artificial mountain, a 4D simulation gondola ride will be available for visitors.

A Mirage resort representative confirmed to Las Vegas Review-Journal that the Mirage Volcano show, which has been a defining feature of the property, closed on Sunday to make way for the Super Bowl attraction. The Mirage Volcano is expected to resume its regular shows in mid-February after the conclusion of the Paramount Mountain experience.

Crews working in the vicinity of the volcano mentioned that the lake surrounding the volcano would be covered as part of the Super Bowl attraction.

It's worth noting that the Mirage, operated by Hard Rock International, has other transformation plans on the horizon. The property is set to undergo a makeover into a Hard Rock brand that will see a 660-foot tall guitar-shaped hotel tower in the same spot as the volcano.
