Eldorado Casino, the largest of Henderson’s three Water Street casinos, is expected to reopen with a new name and look after being shuttered since last March.

Sold by Boyd Gaming Corp. to DeSimone Gaming last December for an undisclosed sum, the Eldorado filed paperwork to begin an exterior makeover and install new signage to reveal it will be renamed as The Pass Casino, as reported by Eater Vegas. An estimated opening date for The Pass Casino has not been announced.

The Pass plans a modern and Art Deco design palette, including a satin finish with a blue, bronze, and white color scheme, the restoration of the neon star looming over the front entrance, and adding an LED display board above the front door. The proposed changes also remove signs that previously promoted “great food” and a “$7.77 Steak & shrimp” deal at Mary’s Diner, the casino's retro-inspired, sole dining space.

Joseph DeSimone also took over the 89-year-old Railroad Pass Casino, located seven miles to the southeast, back in 2014, creating the DeSimone’s Steakhouse and upgrading the 24/7 Iron Rail Cafe.
