The Desert Diamond Casino West Valley —Glendale, Arizona— is set to open its expanded casino on February 19, 2020 and plans to hire 1,300 employees prior to opening day.
The Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise (TOGE), an enterprise of the Tohono O’odham Nation, first announced plans for the Desert Diamond West Valley in January 2009. In December 2015, it opened an interim casino on the site. TOGE broke ground on the permanent, $400-million, full-scale casino in December 2017. The interim casino, which employs more than 700 people, has continued to operate through the new construction, according to TOGE.
Employees are needed to fill positions in food and beverage services, environmental services, slots, table games, bingo, cage, security and more, The Foothills Focus reports.

The 75,000-square-foot gaming floor will be the largest in Arizona and will include the newest slots, a 36-table poker room, 48 blackjack tables, live bingo in a 400-seat bingo hall and more. The new casino will also house five dining venues, including a high-end steak and seafood restaurant, an Italian restaurant, a sports bar, a 24-hour café and a foot court. VIP guests will have use of the VIP lounge and gaming area.
Another stand-out feature of the new casino will be the two-story Rock Bar, which will overlook the gaming floor.
“This is the place that will raise the bar in the Arizona casino industry,” said Rudy Trieto, CEO of Desert Diamond Casinos & Entertainment at the Nov. 19 ribbon cutting of the new team-member dining room.

After the ribbon cutting, members of the news media were invited to tour the 75,000-square-foot gaming floor, which is in the final stages of construction. Facility manager Don Ayers said a state-of-the-art air-circulation system will remove smoke from the casino.
TOGE says the casino will offer competitive salaries and benefit packages which include paid time off, 401K match and comprehensive medical plans.
