Wplay.co was the first online sports betting company to have the support of Coljuegos. It covers about 45% of the Internet gambling market, and has more than 740,000 users over the 2,122,249 player accounts registered in Colombia, among the 17 licensed operators. During the first two months of 2019, Wplay grew by 10%, achieving close to 70,000 new registrations.
The company announced that during its first 20 months of operation, it generated a little over 22,000 million Colombian pesos (USD 7.3 million) for the health area through Coljuegos. This year it is expected to contribute with more than 45,000 million pesos (USD 15 million).
The platform offers around 3,000 sporting events a day, through some 50 sports and a hundred types of bets. In addition, it provides a complete online casino offering with more than 150 games.
As part of the expansion plan, the company expects a monthly investment of 1,200 million pesos (USD 384,000) in innovation and technological services, which include advertising campaigns, adjustments to the physical infrastructure and updates to the platform; all this in order to take advantage of the Internet coverage in the country that today tops 95% of the municipalities.
That way, Wplay.co is able to generate at least 200 direct jobs and more than 10,000 indirectly, based on the more than 40,000 recharging and payment points nationwide.
