Rahul Sood, CEO and founder of Unikrn, Seattle-based gaming and esports company made it clear that they anticipated the Supreme Court would strike down 1992 Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act (PASPA):"We fully expected the U.S. to lift this archaic law eventually -- and as such, when we started Unikrn we set out to create the best fan-driven experience for esports wagering." He also explained their decision to steer clear of Fantasy sports: "We opted to skip Fantasy because we feel like it was operating in a weird loophole, and traditional betting is so much better."
"For the last few years, Unikrn has been building a technical moat around our company and now our platform is light-years ahead of our competition." "We're ready for this," he assured.
As regards the impact that this decision will have on the U.S. and the rest of the world, he spoke about its effects on the black gambling market: "We'll see side effects whereby the black market operators will lose relevance in the U.S. which is a good thing for the ecosystem to be honest."This decision will only expand the market globally," he added.
When asked about the growth potential of the emerging sports betting market, he was confident: "I believe the sports betting market will get to be as big as it has been forecasted. I also think that Esports betting is going to be huge as well."
Finally, pointed out the opportunities this new scenario provides for leagues and team owners: "All the leagues are looking now for new ways to monetize their data.. this is a pretty big opportunity for team owners as well."
