Connecticut: Casinos’ slots revenue showed increases in March 2018
Slot-machine revenues were up last month at southeastern Connecticut’s casinos.
Foxwoods Resort Casino reported that it “won,” or kept, $43.6 million in slots revenue after paying out prizes, a 12.6 percent increase over the $38.7 million it kept in March 2017.
Mohegan Sun won $54.8 million last month, up 4.2 percent over the $52.6 million it kept the same month a year ago.
“Handle” — the total amount of wagers before prizes are paid out — was up 4.4 percent at Foxwoods and 5.9 percent at Mohegan Sun.
Foxwoods has posted year-over-year increases in seven of the last nine months, starting with July 2017, the start of the state’s fiscal year. Over the same period, Mohegan Sun has posted increases in five months.
The casinos pay 25 percent of their slots win to the state. Mohegan Sun contributed more than $13.7 million in March, while Foxwoods made a payment of $10.9 million.
