The license has a five-year term and the value of the contract amounts to $ 3.192.132.019 (USD 1.134.430).

President of Coljuegos, Juan B. Pérez Hidalgo, has announced that the company entered into a license agreement for online gambling operations with Inverstark. On Masgol.co., gamblers will be able to place bets on real sporting events.

“In Colombia, whoever meets the financial, technical and legal requirements set out by Coljuegos can carry out online gambling operations. There are already seven licensed online gambling sites in the country: Wplay.co, Betplay.com.co, Colbet.co, Zamba.co, Codere.com.co, Mijugada.co, and the most recent one, Masgol.co”, explained Perez Hidalgo.

“With the implementation of online gambling regulations, which has been carried out by Coljuegos since November 2016, Colombia has become the first country to regulate this gaming modality in Latin America. This initiative is aimed at providing better resources to improve the health of Colombians, expanding gaming portfolios through the use of innovative tools and adjusting to the global tendency towards an increased use of technology in the world," he added.

Pérez Hidalgo stated that in December 2017 Coljuegos generated revenue of COP41.8b (USD 14.849.300), of which COP1.6b (USD 569.517) came via its online licensees.

He further highlighted that —with the help of Colombia's police— they will continue to block unauthorized gambling domains and that they will promote the entrance of more legal operators that help to provide better resources to improve the health of Colombians.

“Our goal is to have more licensed online gambling operators with Coljuegos authorization in order to create a strong sector completely adjusted to current technologies. We have already blacklisted 325 online gambling domains last year that did not fulfill the requirements set forth by the law. Two more applications have been submitted to Coljuegos which are currently under review and we hope to have 20 authorized platform by 2018, he concluded.
