The deal, worth $350,000, will now contribute to a brand-first strategy in the US and global markets.
The company said in a statement it will improve the usability and visibility of PokerScout, as well as contribute to the brand’s continued growth in various markets such as Pennsylvania, which recently became the fourth US state to legalize some form of online gambling.
Catena already operates a number of media assets in Pennsylvania, and PokerScout will now enhance its service offering.
Commenting on the move, Henrik Persson Ekdahl, chief executive of Catena Media, said, “This acquisition is well timed, given that Pennsylvania is set to open their market for online gaming; we hope that more states will follow in Pennsylvania's footsteps.
“We have been prepared for a long time and this is a milestone for our continued expansion in the US.”
