Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe recently stated that no investor will be allowed to start casinos in Sri Lanka.

The Premier said this in reply to a question raised at the business forum held at Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore which was organized by the country's International Entrepreneur Association. He underscored that it is not the policy of the good governance administration to obtain the support of casinos for the development process of the country. Large number of entrepreneurs participated in this forum.

Singaporean Minister of Trade and Industries S.Eswaran pointed out a trustworthy environment for investments is now available in Sri Lanka. The Minister noted he would encourage Singapore entrepreneurs to reap maximum benefits from those opportunities. Investments available in the fields of tourism, energy, housing, industries and urban planning were discussed at the meeting. A MOU was signed with Subana Juron Company of Singapore with regard to megapolis development in Sri Lanka.
