The government of Malaga has received two proposals from Andalusian Hospitality II and ARC Resorts to build each a hotel casino located in the port zone of the city.

On one side, Andalusian Hospitality is participating of a bidding process to build a luxury hotel tower with a modern casino in Dique de Levante. According to a spokeman, the company has already initiated the procedure to obtain a permit to open a gaming venue within the property.

The current legislation of the Autonomous Community of Andalusia only allows the gaming licenses currently operating in Benalmádena and Nueva Andalucía and opens the doors for a third one. The firm considers to either obtain the new license or acquire one of the existing permits and transfer it to where the project will be located.

As reported in the local newspaper Sur, the firm would have already started discussions with the operator of the Casino Torrequebrada in Benalmadena, to advance negotiations for the license in the case of winning the tender to build its hotel.

Interest to develop a similar project has been shown by ARC Resorts, announced authorities from Malaga. Although not so much information of the proposal has been revealed so far, the intention of the Singapore-based company is to rise a large hotel with a luxury casino sitting along the dock of San Andrés.

ARC Resorts project gets a little more doubt in terms of its viability unless the current legislation is modified, since two similar facilities are meant to be carried within walking distance.

The arrival of ARC Resorts to Malaga occurs immediately after his departure from Valencia, where the company alleged that political impediments did not allow the realization of its project in Marina Real.
