Höltkemeier has been a member of the European Lotteries executive committee since 2009 and will continue to serve in that role in addition to assuming his new responsibilities as president.
He has also served on the managing board of the Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin in Germany since 2005.
In addition to electing a new president, Fernando Paes Afonso of Portugal’s Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa has been appointed as first vice-president and will take a place on the organization’s executive committee.
Robert Chvátal, of Sazka in the Czech Republic, will become second vice-president and also step into a role on the executive committee.
Meanwhile, European Lotteries has also announced a number of other new additions to its executive committee.
New members include Torbjørn Almlid, president and chief executive of Norsk Tipping in Norway, as well as Fabio Attilio Cairoli, managing director of Italy’s Lottomatica.
Andy Duncan, chief executive of UK firm Camelot, Arjan Van’T Veer, lead management at Staatsloterij in the Nertherlands, and Stéphane Pallex, president and chief executive of France’s La Française Des Jeux, have also been appointed to the executive committee.
Elsewhere, Inmaculada García of Spain’s Sociedad Estatal Loterías Y Apuestas Del Estado and Jannie Haek, chief executive of Belgium’s Nationale Loterij, will take on roles on the executive committee.
Franci Krizan, member of the board at Slovenia’s Loterija Slovenije, completes the list of newly-appointed executive committee members.
