Seminole Gaming names new CFO

Seminole Gaming, operator of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s seven land-based casinos, has promoted John Eder to the position of chief financial officer.

Seminole Gaming, operator of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s seven land-based casinos, has promoted John Eder to the position of chief financial officer.

Eder will assume responsibility for finance, banking and investor relations, in addition to accounting, payroll, risk management, compliance, planning and analysis, cage, credit and purchasing.

Having joined the company in 2002, Eder served as vice-president of finance in the gaming division and at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Tampa, before going on to become senior vice-president of finance at Seminole Gaming.

Prior to his time with the firm, he held the position of vice-president of finance at Kerner International, owner and operator of the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas.

Eder has also held various management positions with Walt Disney World, Vesuvius USA and Coopers & Lybrand.

James Allen, chief executive officer of Seminole Gaming and chairman of Seminole-owned Hard Rock International, said: “John was the first employee I hired at Seminole Gaming.

“I am very proud of his accomplishments, and I am confident in his ability to lead the financial areas of Seminole Gaming into the future.”
