(Spain).- The Spanish Commission for Markets and Competition (CNMC) regulatory body commenced diplomacy proceedings against national commercial broadcasters Atresmedia and Mediaset, which are accused of breaching two articles of the country’s broadcast and advertising policy by promoting gambling and/ or adult content products during the broadcasts.

The CNMC said that Mediaset breached its policy by advertising the PremierCasino.es online casino brand in August and September on its Channel 4. Atresmedia has also been accused of promoting Spanish bookmaker Sportium.es on its NEOX channel.

The CNMC said both broadcasters had promoted both casino and sports betting services during the broadcast of popular television programs.
