(Macao).- The Health Bureau issued a written statement saying that it is “very concerned” by reports that some casinos are allowing smoking in areas reserved for premium mass-market table gaming.

Since October 6 the government has permitted smoking in casinos only in smoking rooms without gaming facilities or in VIP gaming rooms.

Some financial news media in Hong Kong have since reported that investment bank Credit Suisse AG’s observers had seen casino patrons smoking in premium mass-market table gaming areas which had been turned into members-only areas, like VIP gaming rooms.
