GameAccount CEO distinguished amongst business elite

Dermot, who joined GameAccount in 2002 and has overseen its development into one of the UK's fastest growing tech companies, was named runner-up in the International category, an achievement which was officially recognized at an Awards Gala held in Dublin last night (October 23).

Known globally as the leading business awards programme for entrepreneurs, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year which also includes categories dedicated to Emerging Businesses and Industry, identifies, profiles and celebrates entrepreneurial trailblazers, for their dedication to excellence, innovation and ingenuity.

Commenting on the honor Dermot Smurfit said: "A little less than 12 months ago GameAccount Network was one of only a handful of companies permitted to launch on Day One in New Jersey’s then newly-regulated Internet gaming market. What was a superb example of innovation, ingenuity, expertise, commitment and teamwork, set the tone for what has turned out to be a transformational year for the company on so many levels.”
