(US).- The four large gambling houses in the New Orleans area saw a minor drop in winnings from Augu1st to September but matched levels from a year ago. The total combined take at New Orleans’s three casinos and the Fair Grounds slots facility remained unchanged in September compared with USD 43.5 M during the same month in 2013, according to data provided by Louisiana State Police.
Month-over-month winnings at Harrah’s, Boomtown, Treasure Chest and the Fair Grounds slots were down 10 percent compared with US$ 48.4 million in August.
The sites also saw fewer visitors last month with 614,457 guests, about 25,000 fewer than a year ago. Month-to-month numbers show about 47,000 more people visited in August.
