Exclusive Interview with Sylvia Dietz, GTECH Sr. Director of Marketing

“GTECH's major highlight at G2E was our expanded True 3D game library”

(US, exclusive Yogonet.com) GTECH attended this year's G2E Las Vegas event, displaying its comprehensive gaming portfolio along with its gaming product brand SPIELO, at the Sands Expo & Convention Center. Sylvia Dietz, GTECH Sr. Director Marketing, Spielo & Interactive, talked to Yogonet.com about the firm's theme, “All Together GTECH,” and the company's performance. “G2E 2014 has by far exceeded our expectations. I think we probably had one of the best booth layouts and product line-ups ever,” she said.

Have you met your expectations at G2E? What can you say about the show?
G2E 2014 has by far exceeded our expectations. I think we probably had one of the best booth layouts and product line-ups ever – our booth, featuring the “All Together GTECH” theme, was constantly buzzing with people!

We presented our most comprehensive gaming portfolio — a full array of games, cabinets, systems and interactive solutions across all gaming segments and channels. Our product offering at the show included the latest products for North America Casino, a special area for Latin America Casino, International Casino as well as Public Gaming markets. Our Interactive offering was at the center of our booth, with an area dedicated to Systems solutions next to it. In addition, customers clearly enjoyed our large bar and social area, the Orange Lounge, as well as our daily Happy Hour reception. Customer feedback at the show was tremendous, and from a business perspective the show was very successful for us.

What was the highlight of the Vegas show?
We believe a major highlight of the show was our expanded True 3D game library. Following up on the groundbreaking launch of SPHINX 3D last year, we've  introduced a number of exciting additions to our True 3D product line, specifically designed to appeal to different player segments. New titles include Bejeweled 3D, Dragon’s Temple 3D.

Dreams of Asia 3D and Aladdin’s Fortune 3D. The initial title, SPHINX 3D, has been installed in properties all over the U.S., including Nevada as well as throughout many countries in Europe, while the Latin America rollout has started with installations in Panama and Aruba. Player acceptance and feedback has been superb across all these markets, so we expect the new 3D titles to follow suit.

How about the U.S. market?
In addition to the new True 3D titles, we've presented new community games from our licensed PopCap brand library for the North American casino market. Fans of Zuma and Bejeweled will be thrilled with the latest additions to our Community product line, Bejeweled Community and Zuma Adventures, both available in a three-game configuration. Bejeweled Community features two entertaining base games as well as a variety of randomly triggered Bejeweled Bonuses. Zuma Adventures offers two unique base games, market-proven Community bonus eligibility and three innovative Community bonuses.

GTECH’s line-up for North America also included yet another internationally-recognized licensed title from the exciting DEAL OR NO DEAL franchise, with the newest version in the series, DEAL OR NO DEAL Las Vegas!. Presented on the MaXVusion cabinet, this brand-new title is set against a glamorous Las Vegas backdrop and offers two base games that share a unique middle reel that only contains wilds and bonus triggers. The bonus is played during and intermittently throughout the base game. The Money Drop, offering two base games and highly interactive players’ choice bonuses, completed our licensed product offering at G2E.

Completing the North American casino product line-up was a diverse portfolio of core games with a balanced mix, including the evolution of perennial successes, new and innovative concepts, and games specifically designed for high denomination play as well as new titles for our Passion Slots reel stepper product line.

And what about iGaming?
Our Interactive offering at G2E for the U.S.-market focused on Play-for-Fun solutions as U.S. states prepare for legalization. It takes time to get an interactive gaming site started and to develop an online database and marketing expertise. Customers can use GTECH’s Play-for-Fun platform today to move players online and to position their brand as a leader while legislation is being created, making them ready to quickly add real-money wagering when legalized.

GTECH´s Play-for-Fun portfolio emulates our real-money online and land-based games to give players the same games and great play action everywhere they play. With our solution, customers can also monetize Play-for-Fun play by selling virtual coins for real currency.

Furthermore, we presented our complete portfolio of Interactive games, systems and services designed to work individually or together. Products on show included solutions for poker, casino, bingo, sports betting and lottery markets. GTECH provides open architecture systems to allow fast integration of third-party products, easily creating a successful online solution tailored to customer needs. In addition to many new slot game titles, the spotlight was on the launch of the exciting new betting platform

WagerWise; a must-see Poker App for tablets; and Poker Network Solution.  All games are available to connect directly to the customer platform or through GTECH’s Player Account Management system, an innovative solution that offers a single 360 degree view of the player.

What are your future plans?
With regards to trade shows and events, there are a few regional conferences we are participating in, such as the Macau gaming show in November, as well as events on the lottery side, such as the World Lottery Summit in Rome. And then of course, it´s already that time of the year to start planning for the 2015 ICE Totally Gaming show in London.
