The beginning of the summit on Monday morning was dedicated to regulatory issues including a keynote address by the Chief Director of Policy and Legislation in South Africa's Department of Trade and Industry, Mac Donland Netshitenzhe. A panel discussion dubbed "Insight from the frontlines of online gambling in Africa" looked at the current state of affairs of iGaming in the continent and looked at lessons which can be learned from other markets.
On Tuesday, the BIG Africa Summit looked at Africa's online gaming markets from a continental and an international point of view for industry players interested in entering Africa's market. Legislation and regulation issues which are a key part to the process were again looked into with a headline keynote address by Geordin Hill-Lewis, Shadow Minister at South Africa's Department of Trade and Industry. Later the emphasis was shifted to the subject of payments and financing with attention given to overcoming challenges posed by payment methods, the impact of bitcoin on iGaming and its potential, and financing/venture in the iGaming sector.
Wednesday marked the workshops day which was divided into two master classes. The first master class was facilitated by Gary Jackson of Qlik who has shown how to create big data consumers in gaming, focusing on creating "patterns". The second master class was guided by Garron Whitesman from Whitesmans Attorneys who gave attendants a step-by-step legal guide on establishing successful online gaming partnerships.
