(US).- Microgaming was rewarded for their continued hard work in the gaming industry by being named the 2014 winner of the digital product of the year. The Global Gaming Awards were held in Las Vegas. Winners were selected by a panel of 50 leaders from the online gaming world and KPMG Gibraltar were on hand to oversee the voting process.

In total, ten companies were nominated for the Digital Product of the Year but it was Microgaming, which won the prize. Much of the reason for Microgaming's win was due to their timely release of the Terminator 2 video slot, which has grown incredibly popular since its June release. Based on the award-winning movie, the online slot features all the action and main characters from the epic film.

Microgaming's CEO, Roger Raatgever and the rest of their staff were thrilled and honored to be named Digital Product of the Year, especially because the panel of judges were the leaders in the online industry, meaning they were selected by their peers.

Raatgever related: "We've had a busy year releasing some epic games to the industry, including our Terminator 2 online slot in June, followed by our Jurassic Park online slot in August. I take this opportunity to say a big well done to everyone involved in our game development – this is an award for you all."
