Betfair will be operating separately from Caesars to offer their services in the state. It has yet to be stated if Betfair will be operating online casino and poker gaming or if they will be eliminating their poker product. The poker option is still available with Betfair but has not done well as compared to the casino product. Betfair first began offering casino and poker gaming online in the state late last year and will now continue to be able to provide their services to customers in the marketplace.
Essentially, Betfair has earned a transactional waiver from the Division of Gaming Enforcement to operate under the license of Caesars Interactive Entertainment. Betfair will be able to operate for six months or until they retain a license of their own. The company has already applied for an internet casino service industry enterprise license in the state.
Betfair no longer has a land-based partner, since they were teamed up initially with Trump Plaza. However, reports have now surfaced that Betfair is working with Caesars to continue to provide online gaming in the state. With Trump Plaza shut down and no longer in operation, Betfair is left out in the cold when it comes to operating online gaming in the state of New Jersey. Operators of online poker and casino gaming in New Jersey must be partnered with a brick and mortar casino to be able to offer online options.
