In addition to a blacklist, the regulator also suggested an industry agreement and adoption of age verification tools that can be used to stop minors from accessing the apps.
Although the regulatory body already has a blacklist system in place for other types of gambling services, national regulations of games of chance only apply to games where players need to stake money in order to play.
Free games of chance that require players to pay for certain upgrades, but not to stake money in the game itself, are unlikely to fall under the Belgian Games of Chance Act.
This may cause a problem for the Commission as it only regulates games of chance that are covered by the Act, not for those that fall outside of it.
