The hotel is separate from the proposed Sheraton Four Points that would be built if Rush Street Gaming is awarded a state permit to build a casino at Mohawk Harbor. Developers said this hotel doesn't hinge on a casino.
"This is part of a larger project. Our casino proposal is approximately a third of the acreage. So the extent that we are successful, and Rush Street Gaming is successful, it will accelerate some of this, but this project is happening with or without the casino," said Galesi Group COO David Buicko.
The state is expected to decide this fall on which casino projects are awarded gaming permits. Formal plans are due to the state beginning next week.
