(US).- Gtech Corporation announced that it has signed a one-year contract extension to continue providing lottery technology and ongoing services to the Arizona Lottery through August 30, 2016. The Arizona Lottery has been a valued GTECH customer since 1984.

Over the extension period, GTECH will continue providing the operation and maintenance of the Arizona Lottery's central system and communications network, servicing 3,650 point-of-sale devices at 2,800 retailers across the state. GTECH will continue to operate from a primary data center in Phoenix, providing field services, hotline operations, and ongoing sales, marketing, and software support. Under separate contracts, GTECH is also the provider of the Arizona Lottery's instant-ticket warehousing and distribution services, as well as a portion of the instant-ticket printing business through GTECH Printing.

"Understanding our customers' needs and player preferences is key to maintaining a successful lottery enterprise," said President and CEO of GTECH Americas Jaymin B. Patel. "The deployment of more than 800 self-service lottery vending machines in Arizona is just one example of this, where approximately 26% of combined online and instant-ticket sales now take place at these machines. We value our partnership with the Arizona Lottery and remain committed to helping them stimulate new sales growth."
