Baccarat accounts for 91 % of Macau’s gross gaming revenues in 1Q

(Macau).- According to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (GICB), Baccarat accounted for 91 % of gross gaming and gambling revenues in Macau in the first quarter of the year, totalling us$ 10.66 billion.

(Macau).- According to the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (GICB), Baccarat accounted for 91 % of gross gaming and gambling revenues in Macau in the first quarter of the year, totalling us$ 10.66 billion.

According to GICB figures, VIP Baccarat accounted for 67 % of gross income of us$ 7.227 billion, whilst standard Baccarat accounted for 23 % of revenues, or us$ 2.502 billion.

Slot machines accounted for revenues of us$ 446 million for Macau’s casinos and in a distant fourth place was “Cussec”, which accounted for us$ 194 million. Overall gamblers spent us$ 10.7 billion on all types of gaming and gambling including dog and horse racing, Chinese lottery, scratch cards and sports betting.

At the end of the first quarter of 2013 there were 35 casinos in Macau, 20 of which were owned by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, three by Venetian Macau, five by Galaxy Casino, three by Melco/PBL Jogos (Macau) and one each by Wynn Resorts and MGM Grand Paradise, with a total of 5,749 tables and 16,406 slot machines.
