Gasser believes the Taylor name and product line will enhance its position as a manufacturer of fine-quality seating and is currently evaluating various marketing strategies for the Taylor brand.
Taylor Chair Company began operations in Bedford, Ohio, in 1816, and was privately held for seven generations, until it closed this past June (2012). Taylor designed and made high-quality office furniture for the legal and government industries, as well as for many other private and public business office environments.
Gasser Chair Company was founded in 1946 by three Gasser brothers in Youngstown, Ohio, and remains afamily-owned business managed by second-generation family members. Gasser has been a manufacturer of high-quality seating for the international hospitality and gaming markets for more than 65 years.
“Because of the similarities in the way the Gasser and Taylor companies manage their sales, marketing and product development activities, we should be able to integrate the Taylor Chair product line in an expeditious and seamless manner,” said Mark Gasser, president of Gasser Chair Company.
