New Jersey’s casinos have suffered more than most in the downturn and Governor Chris Christie has made it a priority to aid Atlantic City’s recovery. The introduction of i-gaming in the state has been challenged on the basis that it would take away revenues from the existing land-based gaming operations.
However, this bill is intended to provide an additional revenue stream for the casinos by preventing bars and restaurants from offering such services.
It remains to be seen, though, if Governor Christie deems this a sufficient compromise to sign the bill into law should it be passed by the state lawmakers.
