(Italy) .- The Italian gaming authorities are preparing changes in the national legislation which could culminated in the approval of up to one thousand live poker rooms and liberalization of the gambling market.

AAMS, the Italian regulator, may be already reporting about the project to the Commission, while the government seems to have prepared a tender for licenses of nine years, by the value of 100,000 Euros each.

With a rate of 3% on the amounts wagered, the first licensees could begin operating by the end of the year.
