(UK).- Independent player protection and standards body eCommerce And Online Gaming Regulation And Assurance (eCOGRA) has announced that it has achieved a significant milestone after qualifying as a testing agency with Italian Autonoma Dei Monopoli Di Stato (AAMS) regulator.

It also had its systems approved by International Organisation For Standardisation (ISO) global standards authority.

eCOGRA oversees the online gambling activities of some 145 tier-one domains owned by some of the world’s most established operators and provides players of these sites awarded with its Safe And Fair seal with a free dispute resolution service.

The AAMS accreditation now empowers eCOGRA to act as a testing and monitoring agency for remote gambling platforms, random number generators and gaming operator applications in Italy. The body stated that it will also open its ‘considerable experience’ to operators with ‘plans to access the Italian market’.

In addition to its Italian success, eCOGRA revealed that it also recently had its systems approved by the Geneva-based International Organisation For Standardisation (ISO) global standards authority.

The London-based independent player protection and standards body was awarded ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service subsidiary for the competence of its testing and calibration laboratories. eCOGRA declared that this accreditation is ‘one of the quality assurance requirements for approval as a testing agency in various European remote gambling licensing jurisdictions’.

“Promoting the values of commitment and self-regulation and preparing remote gambling companies for the national regulatory systems now evolving remains a critical part of our business and eCOGRA will continue to pursue testing agency approvals in other emerging jurisdictions to ensure that we can provide a full-service offering that meets all of our client’s regulatory compliance needs,” said Andrew Beveridge, CEO for eCOGRA.

Beveridge added that eCOGRA expected to announce further jurisdictional approvals ‘soon’ and remains ‘open to approaches’ from existing and new clients interested in how to meet the regulatory requirement of emerging licensing jurisdictions.
