The Gemini Compact ITVMs are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2011. Gtech has provided lottery products and services to FDJ since 2000.
“We continue to listen to our customers and develop products that will more closely address the needs and requirements of the ever-changing market and lottery industry,” said Gtech President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “FDJ will be the first lottery to introduce the Gemini Compact into the marketplace, offering many benefits for FDJ’s retailers and players.”
“We worked very closely with FDJ to design an ITVM that will succeed in the field,” continued Patel. “The new machines have a smaller footprint in retail establishments. They will also feature our new single-burster ticket delivery system, which will greatly improve the reliability and availability of these self-service vending machines.”
Under the terms of the contract, Gtech will provide FDJ with 500 Gemini Compact ITVMs, in addition to the 500 units of Instant to Go vending machines currently in the field, for a total of 1,000 ITVMs throughout France. Compared to the Instant to Go, the Gemini Compact has a smaller footprint design that can house up to 12 instant games creating a secure and streamlined lottery transaction. In addition to this product sale agreement, Gtech will provide FDJ with product technical support.
