In March 2010, Bally began sponsoring the ”Celebrity Spin Zone” segment that airs daily at 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on FOX5’s MORE celebrity, lifestyle, and entertainment show. The spins have raised more than US$ 100,000 for NVCI as part of Bally’s long-term financial commitment to the center.

A host of well-known national and local celebrities have played the Bally slot machine Cash Spin live on FOX5, including television host Joan Rivers, boxer Evander Holyfield, UFC fighter Randy Couture, American Idol’s Kris Allen, and astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Now, the MORE set will be updated with new Bally games, which will continue to raise funds for NVCI.

The new MORE set will include a pair of Bally’s record-breaking Vegas Hits games. The games, with toppers that closely resemble the famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign, each have two spinning wheels and feature U-Spin gesture-control technology that senses both the pressure and speed of a person’s hand gestures as they spin the virtual wheel on the special touch-enabled LCD.

The Vegas Hits games are a perfect fit for MORE, which is hosted in Las Vegas and focuses heavily on Las Vegas-related content. Dozens of Las Vegas Strip performers have appeared on the show and spun for charity, including Penn Jillette, Terry Fator, Carrot Top, the Chippendales, Criss Angel, and Rita Rudner.

MORE personalities also have the ability to do remote celebrity spins at red-carpet events via the Cash Spin play-for-fun app for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. Bally Technologies will soon be releasing a Vegas Hits app, enabling the MORE anchors to take Vegas Hits on the road with them.

In addition, Bally adopted NVCI’s Information & Resource Center, where families, patients, and anyone interested in health information can enjoy free access to some of the world’s most progressive materials. The center also provides information on health and wellness, cancer and cancer treatment, coping, grief and loss, survivorship, and inspiration.
