Through its contract with the state of New York, Bally Technologies will provide the market-share of video lottery terminals and electronic games installed in the states casinos through December 2017, the percentage is set to grow in the coming months as Genting New York begins construction of a recently approved casino at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Queens.
Gaming analyst Chad Beynon with Macquarie Securities reported that Bally currently has 51% of the market with approximately 6,500 games installed in racetracks throughout New York.
Genting New York has said that they will have phase one of “Resorts World New York” opened within the next six months with 1,600 slot machines and other electronic games. The remaining 4,525 machines approved in the 30 year contract are expected to be online within 18 months.
