CIBELAE to organize a legal seminary in Costa Rica

In the current global world, everything changes quickly and organizations connected to state lotteries and games of chance are not exempt from those changes. Technology and
diligence in communication created new forms of gaming, that force organizations to
revise and strengthen the legal aspects in order to avoid the conflicts that these alterations may generate. In order to accompany the accelerated rythmn of the changes, technicians of these entities need a continuous trainning in educational programs.

The seminar will allow participants to get to know the functions and objectives of a Legal Advice in a lottery. The most recent legislative novelties will be discussed, and a revision and analysis of legal issues in the betting sales network will be performed. Illegal gaming will also be treated, as well as the contractual responsibility such as errors from providers,
copyright of softwares used in the technology of a lottery system and the current status of Internet games. Besides, other issues will be discussed by technicians, on top of the exchange of experiences for the professional enrichment of the event.

A person in charge of Caixa Económica Federal (Brazil), who is currently the Senior vicepresident of the entity, was responsible for the presentation of yesterday’s seminary on the issue “The contractual relationship of Lotería Caixa with its providers”.
