Unibet shows a significant growth during second quarter 2010

(Sweden).- Swedish gambling firm Unibet reported a strong set of second quarter results, mainly ascribed to a good world cup performance in its sportsbook combined with the increase in active customers by 30%.

Its second quarter results was 15% ahead of consensus estimates (us$ 13.2 million vs. us$ 11.6 million), similarly Q2 EPS was us$ 0.50 vs. us$ 0.40 consensus estimates aprox. 23%. Live betting contributed a significant portion of gross winnings from sports.

The company closed its Maltese site to residents of France, and has applied for a license. It continues to develop partnerships into the French market.

Despite the closure in the French market, gross win for July 2010 was higher than July 2009.
