House Speaker Robert DeLeo and Senate President Therese Murray said that a six-member legislative panel, which has met for almost two weeks, has yet to reach a compromise between the bills the House and Senate passed.
The House's bill would license two resort-style casinos and up to 750 slots at each of the state's four racetracks, while the Senate's bill calls for three casinos, but no slots.
Patrick and Murray both oppose slots at racetracks, which DeLeo supports. DeLeo and Murray met Monday with Deval Patrick, but said slots were not discussed. The leaders said the legislative panel will continue to try to craft a solution.
