The Tourism Minister of Uruguay, Héctor Lescano, as well as the casino general director, Fernando Nopitsch; and Jorge de León, director of Vidaplan and manager of the project, were present at the ribbon cut ceremony, on top of other authorities and famous people.
Guests entered on the entrance in the corner of Gorlero Street and 31 St, and then they had access to the VIP hall inside the new casino restaurant called Sargo, where the opening was announced.
“It is a pride for the region to count with an entertainment center of these characteristics on the threshold of the península”, said De León, who added: "We have performed a hard work these latest months and we are more than happy with the results obtained so far, the employment that has been generated and the fact of opening the doors of the new
Nogaró by Mantra to the whole public and special guests that are here today and all those who will come to visit us in this 2010 season.”
Besides, Lescano qualified the inauguration as “very good news for the national tourism in general and for Punta del Este in particular, because it is the engine of economic growth”.
In the parking space, Uruguayan artist Rubén Rada sang in front of a big public, and a spectacular fireworks concluded the event, while the casino already opened its doors to players last Sunday night.
Nogaró by Mantra is a latest generation casino, with 2,000 sqm allocated to the highest gaming technology, 300 slots, 22 roulette tables, black jack and baccarat, VIP slot halls and poker rooms. It also counts with a Sport Bar for international betting, a sushi bar and a theater hall for 280 people.
