The first lottery regulation in China to start in July

(China).- The Chinese government has demanded local authorities to implement the first norm on the lottery industry in the country, which will come into force next July 1st.

The regulation, the first of its kind that is approved since the lottery sale was authorized in 1987, has the aim to boost the supervision of this growing industry and prevent fraud.

According to a report issued last Friday, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and General Administration of Sports, will set technical standards on the lottery installations and its issuance and will increase the level of details on the lottery issuance, while it will increase the fiscal control of salesmen.

China sold us$ 8,880 million in benefit lottery in 2008. Most of the funds were allocated to the development of installacions of social assistance, education and health assistance for orphans, the elderly and disabled.
