Vietnam approves televised Daily Lottery Show

The thirty minute television show will air daily nationwide during prime time hours and will be dedicated solely to the broadcasting of daily lottery draws and results. The show will commence airing on July 1st, showing the winning combinations of various lottery games currently offered by the state-owned lottery.

PLC said that it has been asked by the Vietnamese Lottery authorities to have its marketing personnel exclusively assist in the development, launching and ongoing production of the new prime time TV Lottery show.

David Aftergood, founder of the Pacific Lottery Corporation, said: "We are extremely gratified by the continuing confidence the Government has shown in us through its ongoing strong support of the Nation's only online lottery program, as demonstrated by the approval of this momentous event that allows for the first time ever, in Vietnam, the live airing of the daily lottery draws on state run television during prime time hours, which can be seen by millions of Vietnamese TV viewers throughout the country."

PLC added that along with the launch of the new TV Lottery show, the Lottery will also begin selling a new online lottery game supplied exclusively by the company under its existing ten-year contract with Vietnamese Lottery authorities.

The new online game, known as Two Digit/Pair, has recently received all necessary regulatory approvals and was jointly developed by PLC and the nation's lottery authorities. The game has been designed to compete directly with the popular but illegal lottery game, So De.

It is the first time in Vietnam that a game similar to this traditional game is legally allowed to be played by the general Vietnamese public. This new online offering will be exclusively available through the lottery's retail network.
