Spielo signs deal with Svenska Spel

Moncton-based Spielo is the video lottery terminal subsidiary of American giant GTech Corporation and has supplied State-owned Svenska Spel with the majority of its current deployment of 6,700 units.

Spielo has been providing gaming solutions to Svenska Spel since 1996 and this latest agreement will see the Canadian firm begin delivering WinWave Vu terminals next month. Svenska Spel will then use these newer units to replace older Spielo interactive video lottery terminals currently in operation.

"Svenska Spel has demonstrated confidence in Spielo by exceeding the minimum interactive video terminal purchase commitment made by Svenska Spel to Spielo in 2007," said Victor Duarte, CEO for Spielo. "We look forward to building upon an already successful, long-standing relationship with Svenska Spel and providing our newest video lottery terminals, which will allow Svenska Spel to operate more efficiently and generate higher net revenues."

Spielo stated that, once this latest replacement is complete, the gaming operator would have over 5,500 of its state-of-the-art WinWave and WinWave Vu video lottery terminals. "With the deployment of Spielo's most advanced network gaming-ready cabinet, Svenska Spel will be better prepared for the evolution of the distributed gaming space from both a content and network perspective," said Marie Avander, VP of Video Lottery Terminals for Svenska Spel.
