This week, in the ordinary session of the Chamber of Sucre council, it was approved, in second debate, the bill that will regulate legal games and bets in this jurisdiction. It was approved with the support of 11 representatives, and just legislators Luzbelia Marín and Gloria Torres didn’t vote.

Martín added that the gambling activity should not be ruled, and that, on the contrary, the National Government should be demanded to eliminate casinos and bingo halls, that do not contribute to the development of a nation.

“Of course, this type of business generates employment but, At what cost? People may start having gambling problems; a few citizens may become rich with this activity, and some of them may commit crimes,” assured the representative, who affirmed that bingo halls and casinos do not have values or ideological content.

Martín said that she is against the initiative that aims to regulate illegal games and bets. “The government should eliminate this type of illegal games and bets and should not legalize them.
