The document was signed in Brazilia by the VP of Technology of CAIXA (VITEC), Clarice Copetti, and President of IPEA, Márcio Pachmann. According to Operational Manager of Canales Físicos Asociados (GEARP), Ana María Canton, this research will allow to identify the profitability of the Lottery Network and will bring allowances for the decisions related to the lottery channel.
According to IPEA researcher that will coordinate the task, José Mauro Morais, the diagnosis will identify the profitability of lottery agencies. “We will do it by regions, estates and UL sizes. This way, the research may benefit CAIXA in its performance-related pay of lottery agencies”, explained Morais.
For Copetti, it is a very important study, because it will promote more transparency in the relationship between CAIXA and businessmen. “This element will bring benefits for debates and constructive negotiations”, pointed the vice president. Pochmann affirmed that the research goes beyond a financial-economic diagnosis of the business lottery: “We will also see the economical and social impact that these activities have in the local development and in the social segments used in it”.
The reason of IPEA choice for the development of this research, according to Canton, has to do with the synergy of the mission of both institutions, because it is a public entity. IPEA has the aim to do research for the social and economic development of Brazil. “This profile attends the need of CAIXA due to the nature of the Lottery Network, especially due to the strong impact of the activity in the social development of the country, supplying services to the community or bringing part of the lottery collection for the application of social programs”, added.
