Jean Bergevin (European Commission), Christopher Fjellner (European Parliament) and Prof Dr Kurt Schelter (former Minister of Justice and European Affairs of Brandenburg) will be addressing the Legal Gaming in Europe conference (www.bulletbusiness.com/legaleurope).
Supporting the debate will be speakers from operators including Betfair, 24hNetwork, Probability, 1128 plus a unique country by country breakdown of the primary European markets from legal experts.
With massive changes sweeping the European market place including infringements in France, Italy and Germany, the lack of clarity of the legal gaming situation across Europe has left many operators unclear as to where to operate with fear of further reprisals such as the recent Bwin case looming overhead.
The Legal Gaming in Europe conference, set to take place before ICE, was formulated with a view to providing a platform for discussion between the major industry players and to move discussions forward as to how the gaming industry can operate legally throughout Europe.
Michael Setters from conference organisers - Bullet Business - said “With the upcoming UK Gambling Act, the recent actions in Holland, Germany, France and Italy in relation to gaming, and the lack of a common platform we felt it pertinent to bring the stakeholders together with a view to moving discussion forwards. Obviously having the European Commission and Parliament present represents a major opportunity for the industry to get answers to their most important questions.”
