Why is ICE Totally Gaming an ideal opportunity to unveil your next generation solutions?

There are only a few trade shows and conferences that give us the opportunity to see a large number of customers at one event – and ICE Totally Gaming is one of them. With its London appeal and easy accessibility from everywhere in Europe, most of our customers in Europe and Africa attend the ICE show. And because it is five months after the Global Gaming Expo in Las Vegas, we are able to target our product showcase specifically for our EMEA customers and we often launch products at ICE that customers didn’t even see at G2E.

We’re thrilled that this year’s ICE will be the biggest show ever, providing us the opportunity to share our innovative product solutions to the 27,500-plus attendees from more than 150 countries.

What can you tell us about the products you're planning to unleash at the trade show?

The portfolio that we’ll have on display at ICE is representative of Scientific Games’ end-to-end offering of slot platforms, game content, table products, electronic table systems, casino management and player-tracking systems, and utility products for the casino pit. Our SG Gaming UK division will also showcase new games, platforms, and land-based and online content for the licensed betting office, arcade and bingo sectors.

These are Scientific Games’ most sophisticated game cabinets to date; together they support game content from our Bally, Shuffle Master, and WMS gaming brands.

For the TwinStar cabinet we will showcase a host of engaging game content, including player favorites like Zeus, Kronos and Quick Hit Wild Blue. We are also featuring Lock It Link Diamonds and Lock It Link Night Life. Our Lock It Link respins mechanic offers players many features they love, including a four-level progressive jackpot, free spins, multi-denomination game selection, a Reel Ways game, a fixed lines game, and the chance for huge credit payouts. Players really like the anticipation of watching certain symbols lock and increase the value of each of the same symbol by the player’s bet.

Dualos has a large library of content to support the platform too, including Very Cherry, Fortunes 3, Fire Surge - Gladius, Lock It Link Diamonds and Lock It Link Night Life.

Featured casino-management systems products include our new iVIEW 4 in-game display, our instant tournaments solution Tournaments Express, and the latest dashboard and mobile features for MCC — a complete suite of casino-management systems with our flagship Open Casino Manager for management of slot accounting, tables, cashless wagering solutions and marketing modules.

And in our table games area, we’ll feature electronic table systems solutions such as our award-winning PRIZM Game Table and i-Table Blackjack with a new Back Betting feature. We’ll also highlight the latest innovations in our utilities portfolio, including ShuffleStar, a groundbreaking, low-profile front-loading shuffler. We will also have a host of proprietary table games at the show for attendees to experience, including EZ Baccarat and DJ Wild.

How do you feel the European gambling markets will evolve in terms of player trends and technology impacts?

We anticipate that European operators will focus on player tracking and rewards; data analytics and solutions that provide greater business intelligence; cashless and electronic funds transfer technologies; player-tracking table technology; sports betting; systems technology, games and new form factors that attract a younger and more diverse demographic.

Which jurisdictions do you feel currently offer the most potential for gaming growth?

We expect slow but steady growth in the European market through 2017. We’re excited about kicking off our VLT opportunities in Greece.

Additionally, we’re optimistic about Brazil, the long-term potential for Japan, growth in Macau and other regions in Asia-Pacific including Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia and India

We are optimistic that China’s fast-growing middle class will lead to a boost in gaming revenues in that region.

What discussions should drive the 2017 agenda? Where will the focus be?

2017 is going to be an interesting and exciting year. We anticipate there will be more focus from operators to create special areas of their casinos to attract Millennials, such as lounges, clubs, and space dedicated to skill-based gaming. Sports betting will likely be a hot topic, along with eSports events and contests. Online and mobile technologies will continue to be an area of focus for both casinos and lotteries.

From our perspective for the EMEA market specifically, we’ll focus on launching our TwinStar and Dualos slot cabinets into the market. And with our acquisition of DEQ Systems, we’ll have new table products in our arsenal such as EZ Baccarat and Progressive Pai Gow Poker, which we’ll integrate into our product portfolio and leverage for growth and expanded penetration.

What is going to be your strategy this year to outperform competitors and grow your market share?

With 2017 already underway, we’re excited to launch our TwinStar and Dualos slot platforms at the ICE show. These are our newest and most sophisticated form factors featuring HD video displays; game-synchronized lighting; premium sound; and a portfolio of engaging game content.

Once our acquisition of DEQ Systems is final, we look forward to adding their table products portfolio to our Shuffle Master suite, increasing our penetration across the continent with a robust family of proprietary table games, electronic table systems, and utility products such as shufflers and chip sorters designed to increase speed and security and improve performance.
