Gaming tax revenue up by 48 % in Macau

(Macau).- In the first seven months of 2011, Macau’s total public revenue has risen by 45.3 % in comparison with the same period from last year, to a total of us$ 7.54 billion, the Financial Services Bureau said.

(Macau).- In the first seven months of 2011, Macau’s total public revenue has risen by 45.3 % in comparison with the same period from last year, to a total of us$ 7.54 billion, the Financial Services Bureau said.

This increment was due to noticeable increases in the revenue of direct taxes from gaming, up by 46.2 %, contributed by increasing gross gaming revenue. Total public expenditure stood at us$ 2.2 billion, with an increase of 7.6 % in comparison with the same period from last year.

A fiscal surplus of us$ 5.1 billion was recorded in the first seven months of 2011, up by 71.1 % compared with the same period last year.
