What are your expectations and objectives for G2E Asia?
GLI Asia is very excited to be participating in G2E Asia again this year. We have two objectives: first, to meet with regulators, as GLI Asia tests an incredible range of electronic devices and systems including lottery, keno, and bingo; tote and pari-mutuel systems; cashless wagering systems; on-line computer systems and systems modification; sports betting and wagering systems; and casino style gaming devices & VLTs. GLI also tests interoperability and communication; player tracking systems; TITO systems; RNG; and associated/peripheral equipment testing and certification.
Second, we will be meeting with suppliers to help them understand that only GLI has the tools and skills they need to test devices against systems within Asia and the ability to quickly and easily provide certifications into jurisdictions around the world, speeding access to global markets.
Will the firm launch new products focused on the Asian market? Which are their main features?
At G2E Asia, GLI will be discussing our exclusive tools, including GLIAccess, the password-protected backend of GLI’s website where regulators and suppliers can quickly and easily track submissions; GLI Verify, a hand-held tool that empowers regulators to take the lab with them to the casino floor; GLI Link, a powerful tool that allows online testing of devices and systems; and Point.Click.TransferSM that enables suppliers to quickly transfer previously certified submissions into jurisdictions around the world.
Which trends do you expect to see this year at the show?
In each of our 16 labs around the world, we have seen incredible new technologies, and we expect to see suppliers wowing their potential customers with new devices and systems based on these technologies.
How important is Macau's market for your company?
The market is very important to Gaming Laboratories International. In fact, GLI’s GLI Asia laboratory was the first full gaming testing lab in Macao and since its opening, the test lab has become the first and only gaming test lab in the region to achieve accreditation for ISO/ISE 17025:2005.
Macau is currently considered the leading international gaming market surpassing Las Vegas. Do you think that it is a market with options to keep on growing?
Macao has every reason to keep growing, and regulators in Macao and across Asia should know that GLI is here to help them manage the growth through proper regulation and testing.
As operators from different Asian countries visit G2E in Macau, which is your strategy for the Asian market in general?
Our strategy in Asia is the same as it is globally – to independently test and certify devices and systems with the highest level of integrity and accountability. That is what separates GLI from every other gaming test lab.
