The four-star hotel will be located at the corner of Treinta y Tres Orientales and Uruguay, two blocks from the Center, where it used to be a McDonald’s years ago. The hotel will have 60 rooms, two of them prepared for disabled people. Besides, it will have a free shop, a convention hall, a spa and a playroom for children.
The casino will be located where it used to be the former Hotel Casino. Both centers will be linked by a passage in Uruguay St. The winning firm presented to this call and, 15 minutes after the dealdine, another proposal of the consortium comprised by Negoame S.A.-Bingo King-, Tecsa- Atijas Weiss S.A.- Roggio S.A. That’s why, the government decided to reject the offer formally in the decree signed last Monday.
Asked by El País, the council Vilibaldo Rodríguez said that, in total, the consortium will invest us$ 20 million in this investment and pointed that they expect this initiative will attract other investors to the department. "This is the most important development in the area of services, that will hire 120 people in its first stage,” he informed.

“Up to date, important investments have been performed in our department by the sawmills. What we needed was to count with a top-level hotel to boost shopping tourism,” added Rodríguez.
Precisely, he considered that one of the limitations that free-shops currently have in order to attract top-level buyers is the lack of a first-level hotel.
Besides, in times of intense movement of tourists, hundreds of travellers had to lodge in hotels in Tacuarembó or Rosario Do Sul, cities located 100 kilometres far from the city, due to the lack of beds in the frontier.
